Heart For The Neighborhood

Join us in Edgewood on an on-going basis as we share the love of Christ with the underprivileged in this West San Antonio community. Partnering with Heart for the Neighborhood, we help meet basic needs of food and clothing weekly for elderly residents and their families. We visit their homes and bring hope and encouragement. You can adopt a street and pray for God to do what seems impossible - stop the cycle of poverty!

What to expect when you come?

A warm friendly atmosphere where you can be the "Hands and Feet of Jesus" to our friends in Edgewood.  With the Bread Ministry, you'll visit homes and deliver bread to the elderly, the shut in and families who live in difficult circumstances.  In the Woman's Bible Study you'll be amazed at the insightful and honest questions that the women of Edgewood ask in their pursuit of God. In the Community Bible Study, you'll meet people that are looking to understand the Bible and its relevance to their life and family. The discussions are lively, interesting and thought provoking as they seek to understand God and faith in their lives.

"They worshiped together at the Temple each

day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and

shared their meals with great joy and generosity

all the while praising God and enjoying the

added to thir fellowship those who were being

saved." Acts 2:46-47

FAQ

Q: Is it safe in Edgewood?

A: If you believe that God is calling you to be involved then you are as safe as you could ever be!  It is the West side and there is more crime there then other parts of our city.  None the less we do all we can to make this as safe as possible.  Everyone that has been involved that you might talk to will tell you that they have been so blessed being a part of getting to know our friends that live in Edgewood.  The activities that we do, we operate out of public areas, like a renovated school and operate during the daylight hours.
