Swaziland

Africa's last absolute monarchy, the Kingdom of Swaziland has the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the world. As a result, large numbers of adults are dying and the orphan population continues to climb. Most conservative statistics estimate that there are anywhere between 110,000 and 130,000 orphans in the country. While the majority of Swazis profess to be Christian, a small number of true believers really exist. Often boasting the title of "Africa's most African nation," Swaziland has held very strongly to it's tribal traditions and cultural beliefs; some of which are outwardly sinful and continue to fuel other harmful behavior. Syncretism, polygamy, and gender violence are widespread and continue to hold the nation in bondage. The only answer for Swaziland's problems is Christ. We are here to bring His truth and provision to the children of Swaziland so that by His love, they might be transformed.

Our Mission:

Minister to orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs) through hunger relief, health rehabilitation, basic education, and Biblical restoration.

Our Responsibilities:

Ted & Tina will be working with Pasture Valley Children's Home to serve southern Swaziland's orphaned and vulnerable children through traditional education and discipleship.

Tina will be teaching Pre-K and will help train Swazi women how to teach a basic level Pre-K curriculum in their respective communities.

Together, we will be helping disciple young boys and girls in nearby communities through Bible studies, camping trips, boys/girls nights, and other relationship building events.
